Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience as a technical artist in videogame development.
  • Deep understanding of Unity, its render pipelines, and art integration.
  • Proficiency with professional art tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, 3ds Max, Blender, and Adobe Substance Painter.
  • Experience with the full game development lifecycle from concept to launch.
  • Strong understanding of lighting, perspective, technical art best practices, and unit testing.
  • Strong knowledge of source control and project branching strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Strong written, visual, and verbal English communication skills.
  • Portfolio representing past artwork required for application.

Responsibilities

  • Create and integrate 2D artwork, layers, transparency, and parallax effects.
  • Create and integrate 3D models, including vehicles, environment objects, props, and textures.
  • Create and integrate 2D and 3D VFX, materials, shaders, and animations.
  • Manage lighting, cameras, particles, rigging, and physics implementation.
  • Optimize and profile visual elements for frame rates and load times.
  • Prototype new visual concepts and provide solutions for art requirements.
  • Collaborate with art and narrative teams to ensure consistency with design and themes.
  • Mentor other artists on technical art skills and educate the development team.
  • Help create and maintain core technical documentation.
