Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial management.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Understanding of nonprofit and/or governmental accounting, including fund accounting and grant compliance.
- Experience managing grant-funded programs including billing and reimbursement activities.
- Proven experience leading financial systems implementations or process improvement initiatives.
- Experience with organizational budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement audits.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly learn and utilize new financial software and technology.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, including staff management and performance development.
- Direct core accounting operations including general ledger, month-end/year-end close, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Manage organizational budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and treasury activities.
- Perform grant accounting activities including restricted fund tracking, billing, compliance, and reporting for various funding sources.
- Partner with the Chief Financial & Operations Officer on annual audits, tax filings, and internal control enhancements.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to provide financial analysis and support strategic decision-making.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, reporting, and cross-functional business processes.
