Requirements
- Expert level experience in Linux internals and system administration.
- Deep understanding of underlying hardware and hardware interfaces.
- Advanced level experience with Linux kernel, OS, and KVM/QEMU virtualization optimization.
- Advanced level experience in designing, developing, and deploying software and infrastructure at scale.
- Advanced level experience in a Development or SRE role, preferably with large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with infrastructure management tools such as SaltStack, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Kubernetes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and distribute changes to automation, software, services, and tools for the VHP team.
- Design and implement enhancements to VHP observability infrastructure to proactively identify and correct performance problems.
- Automate processes and create supporting tools using Ansible or profiling methods.
- Develop subject matter expertise across the Compute environment.
- Collaborate with support, operations, and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex production issues.
- Participate in on-call rotations and guide restoration and repair of service-impacting issues.
