Requirements
- Degree or diploma from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience with full-stack or web application development, preferably using an MVC-based framework, or advanced experience with Python.
- Experience developing relational database solutions, including SQL authoring and query optimization.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience working with source control systems and established software development workflows.
- Experience improving code efficiency and developing solutions capable of supporting large datasets and high transaction volumes.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear functional requirements and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior developers, co-op students, or peers and provide constructive technical guidance.
- Comfortable working within an Agile product development environment and contributing to ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and deliver solutions appropriate to business requirements.
- Curiosity and willingness to experiment with emerging technologies, including AI-related tools and services.
Responsibilities
- Build, test, maintain, and support web applications and internal software tools across the product development lifecycle.
- Analyze business and technical requirements, determine effective implementation approaches, and challenge or improve requirements when appropriate.
- Identify technical risks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement proactively, and implement solutions that enhance application quality and performance.
- Develop solutions using relational databases, SQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and relevant web development frameworks.
- Contribute to the development of AI-powered products and services, experimenting with emerging technologies and supporting the evolution of the technical architecture.
- Participate in code reviews and promote design patterns, coding standards, and software development best practices.
- Mentor co-op students, junior developers, and peers while actively sharing technical knowledge and learning from more experienced team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve development processes, product delivery, and engineering efficiency.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including prioritization, requirements clarification, estimation, planning, and retrospectives.
