Requirements
- 5-7 years of work experience at an insurance company and/or insurance claims loss adjustment service provider.
- Considerable working knowledge of insurance industry and claims operations, particularly commercial property and casualty claims.
- Understanding of policy construction and ISO Commercial BOP forms.
- Proper adjuster licensing in all applicable states.
- Knowledge of legal concepts and processes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong aptitude with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work core hours of Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm in your time zone.
- College degree preferred.
- AIC and PTC designations are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategy to resolve Commercial Property and Casualty, General Liability, Property, and Professional Liability claims.
- Investigate claims and review materials, documents, and reports.
- Identify and assess coverage issues, draft coverage position letters, and retain/direct coverage counsel.
- Analyze coverage and damages to estimate and recommend reserves.
- Maintain a claims diary, post reserves, and respond to inquiries from stakeholders.
- Negotiate resolution of claims.
- Maintain vendor lists for investigators, appraisers, and experts.
- Work with underwriting on appetite selection and form development.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management regarding claim status and strategy.
