Requirements
- MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one of the following states: TX, NC, FL, or TN.
- Ability to provide telehealth services to members in the state or states where licensed.
- Medicare enrollment eligibility, with no sanctions, exclusions, or restrictions.
- Experience treating substance use disorders, serious mental illness, or co-occurring behavioral health conditions.
- Comfort working with peer support specialists, recovery coaches, care navigators, or similar team members.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, team-based care model.
- Commitment to ethical, compliant, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Perform telehealth initiating visits for eligible members.
- Assess and document serious high-risk behavioral health or substance use conditions.
- Determine clinical appropriateness and medical necessity for Principal Illness Navigation - Peer Support services.
- Create, approve, or update member-specific care/navigation plans.
- Supervise peer support and care navigation services delivered by Accountable team members.
- Review documentation to support quality, compliance, and medical necessity.
- Be available for clinical consultation and escalation when needed.
- Participate in case reviews, audits, protocol development, payer meetings, or quality improvement work as requested.
