Requirements
- 8+ years of data engineering or data platform experience.
- Proven history as a senior IC building reusable, scalable infrastructure.
- Demonstrated technical leadership in setting architectural direction and mentoring.
- Strong software-engineering fundamentals in Python or another Object Oriented Language.
- Experience with production-grade code, testing, and CI/CD.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience operating on a major cloud provider stack (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Competence in data governance, security, and multi-tenancy patterns.
- Ability to effectively leverage AI-powered development tools for productivity.
- Willingness to travel for company offsites at least twice a year.
Responsibilities
- Design the technical architecture of the Databricks Data Warehouse including ingestion, storage, compute, orchestration, and governance.
- Build, scale, and optimize secure, self-service frameworks for batch and streaming data.
- Define and maintain platform SLOs, lineage, and observability, and lead incident triage.
- Implement governance and multi-tenancy guardrails such as least-privilege access and cost controls.
- Automate and harden data infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor team members through code and design reviews and technical leadership.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for platform patterns to enable self-service usage.
