Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation required; Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation preferred.
- Approximately 8 years of experience in actuarial work, decision support, or financial analysis.
- At least 3 years of management or people-leadership experience.
- Experience in managed care, healthcare, or health insurance strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of actuarial methodologies, pricing, forecasting, and performance measurement.
- Advanced proficiency with data and analytical tools such as SQL, SAS, R, or Access.
- Demonstrated ability to lead audits of data and actuarial models.
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Experience evaluating or applying AI-enabled tools to improve actuarial productivity.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, up to approximately 15%.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction of actuarial activities, including pricing, forecasting, month-end close, performance monitoring, and financial experience analysis.
- Guide teams in developing and maintaining statistical and actuarial models for bid pricing, financial projections, and contract modeling.
- Provide senior-level actuarial expertise for interactions with federal and state regulators and ensure the integrity of rate filings.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of actuaries while promoting adherence to Actuarial Standards of Practice.
- Support the design, development, and implementation of AI-enabled solutions across actuarial functions.
- Analyze and communicate financial drivers for assigned products and markets, including IBNR, accruals, and key performance indicators.
