Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university (Master's preferred).
- Two or more years of service as an academic advisor strongly preferred.
- Effective oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service, problem-solving, decision-making, and creative thinking skills.
- High technology proficiency including Microsoft products.
- Familiarity with adult education and academic environment.
- Ability to adapt to multi-generational needs and characteristics.
- Ability to operate with honesty, respect, and positive conflict resolution.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English preferred.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate development of Student Service Advisors (SSAs) through training and coaching.
- Train staff on advising strategies, customer service, communication, degree planning, and university policies.
- Lead the Advising with Purpose performance quality initiative and create evaluation rubrics.
- Assist with training for departmental technology including Salesforce and Marketing Cloud.
- Develop and maintain training materials and resources within the departmental LMS.
- Provide virtual training webinars for staff.
- Establish assessment processes for training methodology effectiveness.
