Requirements

  • Interest in a career in public relations, journalism, public affairs, or communications and marketing.
  • Interest in and basic knowledge of US education system (early childhood, K-12, higher education) and global education issues.
  • Strong writing and editing skills or experience writing for a variety of platforms, voices, and tones.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Knowledge of social media tools and platforms such as LinkedIn, X, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Substack.
  • Knowledge of and facility with appropriate and ethical use of AI tools like Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, and NotebookLLM.
  • Ability to collaborate while maintaining self-management on projects.
  • Deadline-driven and detail-oriented approach.
  • Prior experience with Slack, Zoom, Meltwater, Muck Rack, or Canva is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor education trades and mainstream media and compile daily or weekly media clips for the team and clients.
  • Research key client issues and develop media insights, policy trackers, and other key deliverables.
  • Draft written materials such as press releases and advisories, contributed articles, and briefing documents.
  • Support media relations outreach, including the creation of media lists, pitches, and interview prep materials.
  • Provide general account support, including internal and client calls and other assigned tasks.
