Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience as a QA Automation Engineer, with a focus on backend and API automation.
- Strong programming skills in Java or Python.
- Hands-on experience with API automation tools and frameworks such as Postman, Rest Assured, or Pytest.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for backend validation, data integrity checks, and schema verification.
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, JSON/XML payloads, and response status codes.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated test suites for API response validation, business logic, and integration flows.
- Experience testing complex, multi-service workflows across distributed architectures.
- Experience creating test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and management tools such as Jira.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with developers, DevOps, and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for REST APIs, validating response schemas, status codes, business logic, and data accuracy.
- Perform advanced SQL-based database validation to ensure backend data matches API responses and business expectations.
- Execute end-to-end tests across multiple services and integration points to ensure system reliability.
- Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios aligned with product requirements.
- Identify, document, track, and re-test defects in collaboration with development teams.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to identify quality risks and improve testing strategies.
