Requirements
- Strong hands-on knowledge of MySQL and InnoDB.
- Skilled in MySQL ecosystem tools and technologies.
- Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and index tuning.
- Experience with backup solutions like Xtrabackup and mydumper, including Point-in-Time-Recovery.
- Experience with high-availability solutions (replication, routers, proxies).
- Familiarity with zero-downtime procedures.
- Solid understanding of database monitoring requirements.
- Demonstrable experience in administering Linux-based systems.
- Methodical troubleshooting and complex issue resolution skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers in English.
- Availability to travel for occasional meetings, conferences, or customer visits.
- Self-taught with a desire to learn new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Support customer DBA teams with technical database assistance.
- Investigate issues by gathering data and performing in-depth analysis.
- Provide clear, digestible findings via email, instant message, or voice.
- Perform screen-sharing sessions to resolve production-impacting database issues.
- Author technical blog posts for the open-source community.
- Create and maintain customer-facing knowledge base articles.
- Host webinars on database-related topics.
- Answer questions on company forums.
