Requirements
- Proven experience managing a team of data engineers with accountability for delivery and growth.
- Strong technical background in building and operating data platforms at scale.
- Experience with medallion architecture, event streaming, and warehousing.
- Proficiency with data transformation frameworks such as DBT.
- Experience coaching engineers across a wide seniority range, including Staff-level talent.
- Exposure to machine learning lifecycles and production model management.
- Ability to operate with high autonomy and resolve ambiguity.
- Background in payments or finance-related domains is a plus.
- Familiarity with modern cloud data stacks like Kafka, Snowflake, and Firebolt is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud providers and infrastructure tooling like AWS, Terraform, or Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery across the data platform including streaming, warehousing, modelling, and pipelines.
- Lead, coach, and develop data engineers, including performance management and career growth.
- Review technical designs for streaming systems and evaluate trade-offs in warehouse architecture.
- Partner with Product and engineering leadership to shape roadmaps and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Drive operational excellence through data quality monitoring, incident response, and post-mortems.
- Embed FinOps practices to optimize platform costs and drive decisions based on spend and performance.
- Lead the growth and delivery of the nascent ML function.
