Job Details

Strong C proficiency and hands-on Linux debugging skills.
Proven commercial experience in Linux kernel development, including patching, backporting, or debugging.
Solid experience with Git and GNU build tools (make, autotools).
Experience building Linux kernels or distribution packages from source.
Proficiency in scripting and automation with Python, Go, or Shell.
Practical exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Codeium) with a disciplined approach to verification.
English language proficiency of B1 level or higher, both written and spoken.
Strong ownership mindset with balanced technical judgment and ability to articulate trade-offs.
Experience with RPM/SRPM or Debian kernel packaging is a plus.
Familiarity with security patching, CVE analysis, and extended lifecycle maintenance is preferred.
Working knowledge of Docker, QEMU, or Jenkins is desirable.

Research upstream security (CVE) and bug fixes, analyzing dependencies and impact on legacy kernels.
Manually backport Linux kernel patches to older kernel versions for RPM and Debian-based distributions.
Resolve merge conflicts between upstream changes and target kernel codebases.
Build and rebuild kernel source and binary packages using reproducible build environments.
Validate patched kernels through build tests, runtime tests, and regression analysis to ensure stability.
Enhance internal workflows and validation pipelines using Python, Go, and Shell scripting.
Leverage agentic/AI-assisted development tools while rigorously verifying all generated output.
Document technical decisions and participate in code reviews across time zones.
