Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 4–7 years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Advanced expertise with PostgreSQL including optimization, schema design, and indexing.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, and data modeling.
- Experience designing and supporting highly available, fault-tolerant production environments.
- Proven experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in a programming language like Python, C#, or Go.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (RDS, Lambda, S3, EventBridge, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Understanding of ORM technologies and database performance impact.
- Ability to debug complex issues across applications and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly available PostgreSQL databases and supporting data infrastructure.
- Lead complex data engineering initiatives from architecture through deployment.
- Develop efficient relational data models to support applications and business needs.
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and configuration improvements.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues involving databases, replication, and infrastructure.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
- Develop cloud-based data solutions using AWS services.
- Improve platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery.
- Mentor junior engineers through coaching and design reviews.
