Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, financial planning and analysis, or strategic finance
- 3+ years of people management and development experience
- Strong financial modeling and analysis capabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior management
- Experience at a high-growth tech company
- Experience working with large datasets and technical data management skills (SQL, Tableau)
- Familiarity with AWS cloud cost management
- Expertise with systems such as Adaptive Planning, NetSuite, Salesforce, or Workday
- Experience with AI tools like Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Gemini
Responsibilities
- Serve as the finance lead for Samsara's R&D organization, partnering directly with C-level leaders on budget trade-offs, headcount decisions, and infrastructure investment
- Own FP&A for R&D and Supply Chain Operations including monthly BvA reviews, quarterly reforecasts, and annual operating plans
- Own forecasting and controllership across key cost drivers: COGS, gross margin, hardware costs, employee expenses, and AI infrastructure spend
- Build scalable financial processes and use AI tools to automate reporting and deliver real-time visibility to R&D leadership
- Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing team
