Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) OR equivalent verifiable work experience.
- Eight (8) years of progressive experience in information assurance, cybersecurity engineering, or ISSO/ISSM roles.
- Security+ certification required; CISSP, CAP, or CASP desired.
- Advanced mastery of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800-53 controls.
- Experience guiding systems through the full Assessment & Authorization (A&A) lifecycle.
- Knowledge of network security architecture, incident response, and physical security standards.
- Working knowledge of automated vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS, Nessus, Splunk, HBSS).
- Exceptional communication skills for translating technical risks into actionable business advice.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail regarding security documentation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the comprehensive Information Assurance (IA) program for assigned information systems.
- Ensure continuous maintenance of operational security posture, including network, physical, and personnel security.
- Act as the primary authority for daily cybersecurity operations across assigned systems.
- Advise the Authorizing Official (AO), System Owners, and CISO on system risks and security health.
- Provide deep Risk Management Framework (RMF) expertise for inspections, operations, and orders.
- Maintain accurate system security documentation and authorization boundaries.
- Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) status.
- Lead cybersecurity audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance reviews.
