Security/Network Engineer (Remote)

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, computer security, or computer science preferred.
• At least 5 years' direct experience in an enterprise environment, preferably in a Security Operations Center or DevSecOps Team.
• A minimum of 3 years of coding/scripting in languages such as Python and JavaScript.
• Experience with REST API best practices and usage.
• Network security experience.
• Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux administration tools.
• Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, IAM principles.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with security tools like Splunk, SentinelOne, and Centrify.
• Solid understanding of network operating systems and Juniper SRX series firewalls.
• Familiarity with communication protocols like BGP, OSPF, and monitoring protocols such as SNMP.

Responsibilities:

• Actively identify areas of improvement within the FedNet® Security team processes.
• Assist in design, engineering, deployment, and maintenance of playbooks and automation products.
• Assist with evaluation of automation tools for information analysis and DevOps teams.
• Develop integrations with 3rd party services and APIs.
• Develop tools and automated tests for compliance and security posture.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline work and reverse engineering.
• Assist in designing and gathering metrics data for the Information Analysis team.
• Partner with development and business teams to manage dependencies and technical specifications.
