Requirements:
  • 2 years prior experience in the support of complex, Linux-based enterprise software applications.
  • Familiarity with common administrative commands and ability to write scripts in major shells.
  • Basic understanding of various collaboration, network, data center, and security devices.
  • Understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQLite.
  • Ability to construct SQL statements to query and occasionally update information in a database.
  • Good understanding of SNMP protocol, including familiarity with SNMP commands, MIBs, and OIDs.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more scripting/programming languages (Bash/POSIX, Perl, Python, C, Go, PHP).
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain monitoring solutions using ScienceLogic EM7 for collaboration, network, and application infrastructures.
  • Configure and fine-tune ScienceLogic EM7 for optimal performance and efficient data collection, visualization, and alerting.
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot performance issues across infrastructure components and provide timely resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain custom dashboards, reports, and alerts to meet operational and business needs.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure comprehensive monitoring coverage and support the continuous improvement of monitoring processes.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and training to teams utilizing ScienceLogic EM7.
  • Regular sync up with stakeholders to understand business needs.
  • Own the root cause analysis process and ensure remediation of major issues.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of existing and new technologies as it relates to infrastructure.
  • Work with design & engineering teams to understand product and project requirements.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosis of complex issues.
  • Provide input to continuous improvement and process change suggestions.
