Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience with data centre projects or large-scale industrial projects is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in BIM software (Autodesk Revit), CAD modeling tools, and other relevant engineering software (ETAB, SKM).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems design, including power distribution, UPS systems, standby generators, and security systems.
- Possession of a valid Professional Engineer (PEng) license will be a plus.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management abilities, including the coordination and supervision of on-site activities.
- Willingness to travel to client sites in Canada and the USA.
- Ability to work from home.
- Authorization to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering design activities on major projects in Canada and the USA.
- Design, model, and simulate electrical systems for hyperscale and AI data centres.
- Develop electrical systems including power distribution, UPS, standby generators, and security systems.
- Prepare engineering calculations, schematic designs, and detailed designs.
- Create technical documentation for project execution including design criteria and specifications.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to coordinate BIM models and resolve conflicts.
- Review shop drawings and ensure compliance with engineering codes and safety standards.
- Use BIM tools to virtually construct electrical systems and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Manage and coordinate projects, including on-site supervision.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and utilize laser scanning technology.
