About Race Communications
Race Communications is dedicated to delivering fast, dependable, and accessible fiber internet to every home, focusing on communities underserved by traditional providers. Since 1994, they have been at the forefront of bringing fiber internet to homes and businesses across California. Race Communications was the first internet provider to bring 10G service to California, launching in Lancaster in January 2023. The company has invested over $650 million in California's fiber infrastructure, actively expanding its network across more than 50 markets. They secured over $500 million in additional capital in September 2024 to accelerate their expansion, aiming to reach up to 1 million locations.
How We Work
You'll join a tight-knit crew at Race Communications, where the environment is collaborative, supportive, and dedicated to making a real difference. Relationships are valued as much as speed, fostering a genuine, people-first approach in every interaction. The team operates like a family, celebrating wins and believing in meaningful work that stems from a shared purpose and integrity. Race Communications emphasizes mutual respect and transparency in its operations. While many roles are remote within California, occasional travel to offices or off-site locations may be required, allowing for both flexibility and in-person collaboration.
Engineering at Race Communications
Race Communications builds and expands a 100% fiber-optic network across California, delivering multi-gigabit speeds up to 10 Gbps to residential and business customers. They utilize cutting-edge fiber infrastructure, setting them apart from providers still relying on copper networks. Their technical challenges involve designing and planning fiber optic networks for capacity and scalability, utilizing CAD software, and integrating with tools like Vetro and ArcGIS for detailed layouts. They are continuously expanding their network, with significant investments underway to bring future-proof connectivity to new markets.
