Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of experience working as a Senior Developer or Architect.
- Bring expert-level Java skills.
- Have deep experience with Spring, including Spring Boot and Spring Data, and Hibernate/JPA.
- Understand Java multithreading and concurrency, including CompletableFuture, thread pools and executors, the fork/join framework, synchronization primitives, and common pitfalls.
- Understand distributed systems concepts, including eventual consistency, idempotency, and horizontal scaling.
- Have hands-on experience with Kafka in production.
- Have strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, query optimization, and indexing.
- Have experience using Redis for caching, rate limiting, or other patterns.
- Have experience building and running services on AWS.
- Know JVM internals and garbage collectors, and have practical performance-tuning experience with profilers, heap dumps, and GC logs.
- Nice to have: experience with Go, Rust, or TypeScript; Kubernetes; CI/CD and DevOps; ClickHouse, Apache Doris, or other columnar/OLAP databases; high availability and fault tolerance; observability tools such as OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing; or LLMs and agentic workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve backend services in Java, and Go where appropriate, from architecture through production.
- Define and drive architectural decisions for distributed, horizontally scalable systems.
- Build event-driven systems on Kafka and design data flows that handle eventual consistency.
- Model and optimize data across PostgreSQL, Redis, and analytical stores such as ClickHouse or Apache Doris.
- Write efficient, safe concurrent code and review concurrency designs.
- Profile and tune applications for latency, throughput, and memory usage, including JVM and garbage collection tuning.
- Build and run services on AWS in collaboration with the DevOps team.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pairing.
