Requirements
- Demonstrate strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean abstractions, maintainable code, and justified architecture choices.
- Have production experience with Go, or demonstrate strong systems programming skills in a comparable language.
- Have experience building and operating platform engineering systems, rather than only consuming them.
- Bring experience with CI/CD and GitOps systems such as GitLab CI, Argo CD, or Kargo.
- Bring experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
- Bring experience with container orchestration such as Kubernetes and Helm.
- Bring experience with observability and monitoring tooling such as VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, Loki, or Tempo.
- Bring experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Have experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows.
- Have personally driven a complex project end-to-end.
- Demonstrate strong debugging, optimization, and performance-tuning skills.
- Have strong verbal and written English skills.
- Participate in on-call rotation for teams that require it.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate the CI/CD pipelines used by every engineering team.
- Build and maintain observability and monitoring tooling for teams to debug their systems in production.
- Build local development environment tooling that lets engineers reproduce production-like conditions on their laptops.
- Identify where engineers lose time to infrastructure and address the underlying causes.
- Debug complex issues spanning CI/CD, observability tooling, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
- Contribute to the platform roadmap and backlog.
