Requirements
- Have a track record at Staff Engineer level or higher.
- Have hands-on experience operating large language models in live products, including prompt design, tool use, formatted outputs, and quality assessment.
- Be familiar with frameworks for orchestrating AI agents.
- Have a proven history of shipping and running Python services in production.
- Have experience in a fast-moving startup or as a founder, including ventures that did not succeed.
- Be able to work remotely during US time zones.
- Working knowledge of asynchronous programming and real-time data delivery over web APIs is a bonus.
- Prior experience at a large technology company or late-stage startup is a bonus.
- A background in health technology is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship LLM-powered agents that call external tools, return structured results, and stream responses to users.
- Develop AI-driven features that deliver personalized guidance, with a person reviewing the output.
- Own capabilities end to end, from prototype through quality and safety assessment, release, production monitoring, and ongoing improvement.
- Improve reliability and speed while reducing cost through caching, token management, retry handling, and monitoring.
- Create integrations and supporting utilities for agents, with validated inputs and outputs.
- Work alongside product, design, mobile, and server-side colleagues.
