Requirements

  • Have hands-on experience installing, customizing, and maintaining Db2 for z/OS and SMP/E in an MVS/z/OS environment.
  • Understand relational database concepts, IBM utilities, JCL, access methods, and file structures.
  • Have experience with Db2 monitoring tools.
  • Have practical experience implementing Db2 security authorization models using RACF or ACF2.
  • Have experience executing disaster recovery protocols.
  • Be proficient with ecosystem tools and ISV software from IBM, Broadcom, and Computer Associates (CA).
  • Have experience participating in large-scale, complex projects to design and implement mainframe database solutions.
  • Have strong root-cause analysis skills and strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Prior experience in banking, financial services, or enterprise commercial environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, customize, upgrade, and maintain Db2 for z/OS environments and associated ISV tools from IBM, Broadcom, and CA.
  • Execute software maintenance using SMP/E across MVS/z/OS environments, including service updates and version upgrades.
  • Administer Db2 access control and security rules using RACF and ACF2.
  • Tune and monitor system performance, size databases, and troubleshoot processing anomalies and system errors.
  • Support the disaster recovery strategy and lead functional testing for the tertiary backup environment.
  • Maintain JCL, operational utilities, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation for mainframe database operations.
  • Provide operations support and collaborate with Service Centers and business teams on incident escalations, resolutions, and reporting.
