Requirements
- Have 7+ years of full stack development experience with strong PHP and Laravel expertise.
- Have at least 7 years of experience with advanced JavaScript.
- Have 5+ years of experience with SPA frameworks; Angular is preferred, and React or Vue.js is acceptable.
- Have strong SQL skills and experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Be proficient with Git, automated testing, and modern development workflows.
- Have a strong understanding of core computer science concepts.
- Have experience with Docker and Kubernetes in a microservices environment.
- Be fluent in English.
- Be based in South Africa and available to work 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
- Have reliable high-speed internet, a quiet professional workspace, a personal computer, monitors, and required work equipment.
- Provide load-shedding backup if applicable.
- Bonus: Familiarity with Laravel or Symfony and optometry EHR systems such as OfficeMate, Crystal, or RevolutionEHR.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and implement new features for the SaaS product.
- Develop backend systems using PHP and Laravel.
- Build and manage microservices within Docker and Kubernetes.
- Design and maintain RESTful APIs for integrations and internal tools.
- Contribute to front-end development using Angular and SASS.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs and performance issues.
- Optimize application scalability and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold software development best practices.
