Requirements

  • Have at least 3 years of cybersecurity experience supporting a U.S. federal customer.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, technology, data science, statistics, analytics, or a related quantitative or software development field.
  • Have proven work experience as a system security engineer or information security engineer.
  • Have thorough knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls, ATO processes, and FedRAMP systems.
  • Maintain ATOs for systems and perform during annual Adaptive Capabilities Testing (ACT).
  • Have experience with Kali, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
  • Understand static and dynamic code testing and have experience building and maintaining security systems.
  • Have hands-on experience with security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection, antivirus, authentication, log management, and content filtering.
  • Have experience with network security, networking technologies, and system, security, and network monitoring tools.
  • Be familiar with web applications, web services, service-oriented architectures, and network/web protocols.
  • Be familiar with cloud computing platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google.
  • Be proficient with Nessus, Burp Suite, ZAP, and OWASP.
  • Write scripts using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Have experience with Splunk, AppOmni, and AWS.
  • Preferred certifications include AWS Security Certification, Certified Authorization Professional (CAP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Network Defense Architect (CNDA), and CISSP.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, implement, and monitor security measures protecting computer systems, networks, and information.
  • Identify and define system security requirements.
  • Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cybersecurity designs.
  • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices.
  • Develop technical solutions and security tools to mitigate vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
  • Monitor security incidents and ensure information about them is communicated quickly.
  • Write reports covering assessment findings, outcomes, and proposed security enhancements.
  • Produce client-facing documentation for proofs of concept or vulnerability exploitation.
  • Maintain ATOs and security documentation, including SSP, CP, ISRA, tabletop exercises, and PIA; complete Splunk, AppOmni, and AWS integrations.
