Requirements
- Solid backend engineering experience in Java.
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform.
- Comfortable working across large-scale distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale data infrastructure, ideally BigQuery, GCS, and Kubernetes.
- Experience navigating complex data pipelines.
- Strong system design skills, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and auditability.
- Ability to work across team boundaries with cross-functional partners like Legal, Data Governance, and Product.
- Experience working in environments with evolving requirements and ambiguity.
- Strong focus on code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English at a B1 level.
Responsibilities
- Build the programmatic classification pipeline and governance data catalog behind DSA obligations, classifying data fields across endpoints and provisioning them to EU-credentialed researchers.
- Develop the governance taxonomy and data model for sensitive data categories, starting with Precise Location Data.
- Contribute to the EU e-Evidence system and cross-border law enforcement data access infrastructure.
- Partner with Data Governance, Content Platform, Legal, and product teams to deliver reliable, auditable, and scalable solutions.
- Champion engineering best practices, strong architectural design, and a culture of shared ownership.
