Requirements
- Senior experience in ML engineering, data science, or applied research.
- Proven experience with production deployments (API, batch, or streaming).
- Strong ability to design and run experiments and A/B tests with statistical rigour.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Hands-on experience with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Solid grounding in modern software engineering, infrastructure, and data tooling.
- Understanding of MLOps challenges across the full ML lifecycle.
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning (e.g., multi-armed or contextual bandits).
- Cloud platform experience (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure accepted).
- Ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of ML-powered features within your initiatives, from research and testing through training, deployment, and monitoring in production.
- Productionise smart routing decisions across the payment flow while building the supporting ML infrastructure.
- Partner closely with product, data, and engineering teams to turn promising use cases into shipped, measured outcomes.
- Maintain a pragmatic, impact-first mindset towards experimentation and model evaluation.
- Mentor other engineers on ML techniques, sharing tradeoffs and best practices for keeping systems simple.
- Talk directly to customers to validate ideas and pressure-test implementations against real usage.
- Help set technical direction and prioritize high-impact use cases.
- Establish patterns and practices for reliable and repeatable ML work.
