Requirements
- 8+ years of experience developing machine learning models.
- Substantial hands-on model training experience and a record of leading complex initiatives.
- Strong background in Python programming and software engineering.
- Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers.
- Deep understanding of neural network architectures, optimization, and data preprocessing.
- Expertise in scalable data pipelines and distributed training frameworks like Ray Train or PyTorch Distributed.
- Demonstrated rigor in experimental design, model evaluation, and adversarial testing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Select, adapt, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy pretrained models and lightweight classifiers for Reddit-specific security problems.
- Build reproducible training and evaluation pipelines on Reddit’s ML platform.
- Set the technical vision and multi-quarter modeling roadmap in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct model evaluations and performance analysis to improve accuracy and adversarial robustness.
- Own training-data quality and the production model lifecycle through monitoring and retraining.
- Establish best practices for responsible ML development, including testing and privacy-aware data use.
- Stay current with research in NLP, LLMs, and multimodal techniques.
- Mentor engineers and lead technical discussions to shape the team’s long-term ML capabilities.
