Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be completed by end of new hire orientation).
- In-patient hospital experience (preferred).
- Enrollment in nursing or medical programs (strongly preferred).
- Listing on the Nurse Aid Registry of North Carolina (preferred).
- CPI certification (strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated interest in the health and well-being of others.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to work in stressful situations and keep calm.
Responsibilities
- Perform constant and direct virtual observation of identified patients using telehealth technology.
- Monitor changes in patients' physical, emotional, and mental condition.
- Communicate patient status and behavioral changes to bedside and virtual nursing teams.
- Document observations in electronic health records.
- Escalate unsafe events via alarms or redirections.
- Monitor patients in seclusion and/or restraint.
- Collaborate with bedside and virtual nursing staff on safety plans of care.
- Help bedside teams with setting up, troubleshooting, and discontinuing monitoring carts.
