Requirements
- 3-5 years of demonstrated narrative or scriptwriting output (audio, video, podcast, or long-form storytelling).
- Writing sample showcasing the ability to find non-obvious stories in well-documented places.
- Strong research instincts and comfort sourcing verifiable facts.
- Ability to write convincingly about global locations and diverse perspectives.
- Comfort working within structured creative frameworks.
- Ability to process and implement specific editorial feedback across multiple rounds.
- Reliability to meet project timelines for freelance engagement cycles.
- Experience in documentary filmmaking or short-form video journalism is a plus.
- Prior freelance experience working to an external editorial framework is a plus.
- Strong interest in history, urban geography, and place-based storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Draft narrative audio tour scripts for iconic venues and historic neighborhoods worldwide.
- Distill in-depth research into immersive, conversational storytelling for walking tours.
- Collaborate with tour producers throughout the scripting and revision process.
- Incorporate editorial feedback across approximately three rounds of revisions.
- Collect verifiable facts and citations to ensure accuracy in tour content.
- Work on a tour-by-tour engagement basis while meeting defined turnaround timelines.
