Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with specialized vessels (e.g., T-EPF, T-AH, T-AKE, T-AO, T-ARC, T-ARS, T-AS, T-ATF, LCC, T-ESB, T-AOE).
- Experience with marine power plants, propulsion control, automation/control, and electrical distribution systems.
- Experience with navigation and marine electronics systems in a naval or merchant marine environment.
- Active Secret clearance required.
- Ability to travel occasionally to Chesapeake or Norfolk, VA.
- Proficiency in SKM or similar power system analysis software (preferred).
- Experience with MathCAD, Adobe Pro, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience developing FMEA and PSTP (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Prepare complex electrical load analyses, fault current analyses, and coordination of protective devices.
- Develop contract and in-house designs while performing troubleshooting and First Article Testing.
- Conduct surveys, inspection trips, sea trials, and ship checks.
- Perform electrical calculations and schematics including voltage drop, load calculations, and power/lighting one-line diagrams.
- Develop EPLA, protective device coordination studies, and electrical plant distribution impact data.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop FMEA and PSTP for U.S. Coast Guard approvals.
