Exceptional classroom instructor in both in-person and virtual settings
Experience in student support for high school-aged student population
Experience teaching content related to career-readiness and/or professional skills development for 16-18 year old students in urban, lower-income communities
Experience maintaining strong partnerships; experience with a diverse stakeholders across sectors (education, corporate) is a plus
Familiarity with Canvas or other LMS platforms, Zoom, Google Drive, and other remote collaboration tools

💡 Responsibilities

Complete onboarding activities and shadow Managing Director of Programs
Understand the Prelude Learn and Earn Internship Model
Become familiar with Intern Seminar curriculum and Prelude corporate and high school partners
Lead in-person induction sessions on-site at corporate partners
Facilitate virtual induction sessions
Lead weekly virtual Intern Seminar cohorts (2-3 one-hour class sessions per week on a fixed schedule during the school day)
Conduct weekly prep for instruction (1-2 hours per week)
Provide ongoing student support for assigned cohorts to ensure all students are thriving in their internship placements
Support curriculum development, grading, and updates as needed
Assist with LMS (Canvas) management and maintenance
Serve as representative of the Prelude team, liaising with high schools and corporate partners as needed

Previous K-5 curriculum development experience (especially related to durable skills and emotional wellness curriculum) creating content that has been implemented by a wide range of educators in multiple educational contexts.
Teaching experience preferred.
Passion for curriculum development.
Superior attention to detail.
Experience seeking and integrating feedback from multiple constituents.
Comfort working with a remote team, often independently.
Concrete evidence of keen interest in, and exploration of, their self-development.
Entrepreneurial spirit and an interest in working in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
Belief in nXu’s mission and a passion for helping other people--especially youth--explore, articulate and pursue their purpose in life.
Bachelor’s degree required.

💡 Responsibilities

Collaborate with the nXu curriculum team on the final K-5 scope + sequence and topics per grade level.
Write 12-160 K-5 lesson plans (depending on capacity) for educators including facilitation guides, student materials, and associated slide decks for each lesson using existing nXu curricular templates.
Leverage research and a variety of media sources to design lessons that are developmentally appropriate, easily accessible, engaging, experiential, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive.
Revise lessons based on feedback.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

At least five years of instructional and curriculum development experience at the middle or high school level
At least two years of experience coaching and/or managing teachers
Experience teaching content related to social-emotional learning, identity development and/or related whole child development topics
Experience working with a diverse population of students across various grade levels, especially BIPOC students and students from low-income backgrounds
Comfort with periodic travel for school visits to conduct observations, engage in feedback/coaching sessions with educators, and to support with program implementation
Knowledge of and experience with cultural responsiveness and practices that result in equity and inclusion
The ability to motivate and inspire educators and professionals, particularly around topics of purpose and SEL development
Belief in nXu’s mission and a passion for helping young people and professionals explore, articulate and pursue their purpose in life
The ability to create an inclusive and equitable program culture for all nXu constituents

💡 Responsibilities

Via frequent virtual check-ins, supporting educators and their schools/organizations to integrate nXu’s content into their program model based on their specific use case
Providing ongoing, tailored strategic guidance and coaching around curricular selection to meet the needs of each partner
Ensuring a high quality experience for all students and educators in the implementation and delivery of nXu’s curriculum.
Cultivate and create a supportive and intellectually curious professional atmosphere in which educators feel meaningfully supported in their delivery of nXu’s curriculum.
In collaboration with other members of the team, support nXu to codify our partner support systems. This includes participating in internal calls to discuss partnership trends with the goal of optimizing the effectiveness of our partnership support model.
Serve as a positive representative of nXu with partner schools and organizations as well as with the broader educational community. There is the potential for modest travel to partner schools.
