- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Certification is a plus.
- Strong scripting and programming skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation, infrastructure as code (IaC), and scripting tasks.
- Proficient with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for managing infrastructure configurations.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools such as Jenkins or Github.
- Understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and VPN technologies.
- Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Strong understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security controls within cloud environments.
- Knowledge of database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL databases, including configuration, optimization, and replication strategies.
- Design and architect multi-cloud-based infrastructure and services that meet performance, availability, and security requirements. Develop architectural patterns, standards, and best practices to guide platform development and evolution.
- Automate deployment and configuration processes to ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability.
- Optimize containerized workloads for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency.
- Design CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, test, and deployment processes.
- Configure dashboards and reports to track key metrics, identify trends, and troubleshoot issues proactively. Respond to incidents and outages, performing root cause analysis and implementing remediation actions.
- Implement security controls and best practices to protect infrastructure, data, and applications from threats and vulnerabilities. Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Monitor resource utilization and performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities and prevent capacity constraints, incorporating financial operations (FinOps) to manage cloud spending effectively.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in cloud computing and platform engineering. Evaluate new tools, services, and methodologies to improve platform capabilities, performance, and efficiency. Lead research and development initiatives to prototype and validate innovative solutions for future platform enhancements.
