Requirements:

4+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years working with a design system (either as a contributor or dedicated role).
Strong UI and interaction design skills, with a deep understanding of visual consistency, layout systems, and component-based design.
Fluent in Figma, including component libraries, tokens, auto-layout, and prototyping.
Experience collaborating closely with engineers, ensuring high-quality handoffs and implementation.
A portfolio showcasing design system contributions, component work, and impact on team efficiency or product quality.
Attention to detail and passion for design craft, ensuring pixel-perfect, scalable, and maintainable design patterns.

Responsibilities:

Design and refine UI components, patterns, and styles that help Samsara’s product teams create high-quality, consistent experiences across web and mobile.
Work closely with engineers to ensure components are implemented correctly, scalable, and accessible.
Support product designers in adopting and using the design system, providing guidance and improving documentation.
Improve Figma libraries by maintaining clean, well-structured components that are easy to use and update.
Ensure accessibility best practices are embedded into the design system components.
Help scale and improve design tokens for colors, typography, spacing, and more.
Contribute to design system documentation, ensuring that components and guidelines are clear and well-maintained.
Monitor and track adoption, surfacing areas where the system can be improved based on feedback from product teams.
