Requirements:
  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle monthly close accounting and financial reporting is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP and strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Experience with a large ERP system.
  • Certified Public Accountant license or candidacy and prior audit experience is required.
  • Experience in the energy and non-profit industries is a plus.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and variance analyses.
  • Assist in annual financial audit and compliance reviews.
  • Establish and update accounting methods and procedures with Senior Director’s approval.
  • Support research and implementation of new accounting software.
  • Manage investment accounting and prepare necessary disclosures.
  • Handle program and grants-related accounting tasks in compliance with GAAP.
  • Perform analyses for key general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Conduct research on technical accounting issues to ensure GAAP compliance.

  • Stay informed of industry changes and current accounting regulations and practices and assist with coordinating the implementation of adopted standards.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of procedures, policies and internal control systems and embrace proper policies for financial reporting, including assistance with the implementation of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
  • Assist with scaling and optimizing accounting systems and processes, including identifying opportunities to automate or streamline processes and executing planned automation and technological advances, including FRP software (e.g. Workiva).
