BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on work experience in front-end engineering.
Strong experience building mobile apps targeting the Android platform using the Android framework.
Experience with native Utility applications
Native experience with Android Studio and Kotlin
Excellent knowledge of SOLID principles, Design Patterns and Architecture Patterns
Good knowledge of testing (Unit, UI, performance etc.) and CI/CD pipelines
Good knowledge of Analytics tools and reporting
Work experience working in an Agile (Scrum) environment.
Work experience with source control systems such as Gitlab or Github
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
A self-starter who is hands-on and knows how to find answers and work with ambiguity.
Proactive role model and an effective team contributor.

💡 Responsibilities

The analysis, design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of native mobile software components.
Devising techniques for better performance, modularity, testability, install-ability and maintainability of our mobile applications.
Writing clean, scalable, readable and maintainable code.
Developing features to enhance the user experience.
Striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design.
Assisting in the overall architecture and design of SilverRail’s mobile applications.

Hands on experience in operations engineer, DevOps, SRE, sysadmin role or academic knowledge
1+ year of industry experience in an IT function, and exposure to Public Cloud services
Foundational knowledge of Linux based operating systems
Awareness and exposure to programming practices and Software Development Life Cycle models
Experience in a common programming language or scripting language (python, ruby, bash, etc)
Exposure to Infrastructure as code concepts and languages, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM etc
Exposure and awareness to Container technologies, exposure to Container platforms such Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE/Rancher/Openshift/Anthos) would be beneficial
Knowledge of Git and Git based workflows such as GitOps
Advocate of software best practices and Agile SDLC.
Software development experience is highly valued.

Contribute to building and enhancing every aspect of SilverRail’s evolving infrastructure and platform as a service.
Support internal and external customers, and build on key cloud technologies
Manage service reliability functions such as monitoring & alerting solutions, latency & load performance, uptime, and error budgets.
Develop, maintain, and utilise SilverRail’s deployment automation, configuration management, and orchestration systems.
Design, build, and manage SilverRail’s cloud environments and associated technologies
Own the deployment process to ensure streamlined, zero-downtime, and orchestrated service delivery.
Work with cross functional teams to optimise processes, application development, and customer support.
