Requirements:

• Seven years of commercial lines underwriting experience required, including some experience working with large accounts
• Strong knowledge of underwriting techniques, terminology, policies, and forms
• Sound underwriting judgment and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to speak effectively before groups

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the selection and maintenance of profitable and growing book of business for accounts that are complex, cover multiple operations or large property
• Negotiates terms and pricing of coverage with agents and brokers
• Establishes strong relationships with key agents/brokers in order to solicit new business and retain existing business
• Assists agencies in direct selling situations by presenting information to policyholders and applicants
• Reviews data and information needed to properly evaluate new and renewal submissions for large and complex accounts
