Senior Database Platform Engineer

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience with highly available databases systems
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and ProxySQL
• Experience with Ansible and Linux
• Solid background in performance tuning and problem diagnosis
• Experience with software management configuration tools
• Basic networking and OS knowledge relevant for databases
• Familiarity with distributed database systems (e.g., CockroachDB, YugabyteDB)

Responsibilities:

• Support and manage a fleet of MySQL databases accessed through ProxySQL
• Boost existing automation to reduce operational workload
• Design, implement, and execute new operational procedures
• Use programming/scripting skills to manage database platforms
• Develop long-term database technology strategies
• Provide feedback on architecture and design during reviews
• Identify and resolve performance issues
• Optimize database infrastructure layers
• Troubleshoot complex technical problems
• Keep the database platform up-to-date
