Senior Underwriter

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred
• 3-5 years of consumer and or commercial underwriting required
• Experience with financial analysis required
• Experience reviewing and analyzing individual and company credit reports
• Strong analytical skills
• Skilled at multi-tasking
• Fluency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM is desirable; ability to manage multiple software applications
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills is a must
• Strong work ethic
• High level of discretion

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to review and price larger deals ($1M+ gross annual revenue) considering affordability, credit, and numerous risk factors
• Add required stipulations as appropriate
• Communicate with sales reps regarding adjustments to pricing and required steps
• Discuss and update on the competitive landscape both in terms of pricing and commissions
• Attend all credit committee meetings and provide insight and opinion regarding the viability of a deal
• Train and support Underwriters
• Review pricing and evaluation strategies including deal grading and industry-specific details
• Participate in Credit Committee meetings
• Review the work of trainees and provide insight and feedback
• Perform final review for funding, including review of all documents, research, and bank activity, as directed
• Participate in monthly portfolio review
• Participate in quarterly performance reviews including review of defaults
• May be required to perform other tasks and duties reasonably related to job responsibilities
