Requirements:

• CPA certification (or equivalent, such as CA or ACCA) preferred.
• Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting for commercial real estate, including syndications and fund management.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial management software.
• Strong understanding of real estate tax laws, including depreciation, deductions, and capital gains.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
• Preferred: Experience with cost segregation studies and their financial impacts.
• Familiarity with real estate investment trust (REIT) structures.
• Background in multi-state real estate tax compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for commercial real estate syndications, developments, and funds.
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
• Oversee fund accounting, including tracking investor contributions, distributions, and performance metrics.
• Conduct tax planning and compliance, focusing on real estate-specific strategies such as 1031 exchanges and cost segregation.
• Utilize QuickBooks for financial management, ensuring accurate and efficient record-keeping.
• Reconcile accounts, manage cash flow, and oversee general ledger activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to evaluate real estate transactions and provide financial insights.
• Stay current on industry trends, accounting standards, and tax regulations affecting commercial real estate.
• Provide financial advice and guidance to stakeholders on real estate developments and investments.
