Requirements:

• Strong English writing and speaking skills with minimal accent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing fire alarm systems for commercial buildings.
• Bachelor’s degree or formal education in Electrical Engineering is helpful but not required.
• NICET certification is a plus.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm system integration with other building systems.
• Ability to create design specifications and submittal packages.
• Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Zoho Cliq, Trello).
• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Commitment to continuous learning in fire alarm design, including USA-based requirements.
• Proficiency in NFPA Standard codes, particularly NFPA 72 and IBC/IFC.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD software, and MS Excel.
• Knowledge of fire alarm control panels, initiating devices, and wiring methods.
• Familiarity with relevant US building codes and regulations.
• Ability to perform battery and voltage drop calculations.
• Skill in creating detailed design documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Create comprehensive fire alarm system designs based on project specifications and regulations.
• Develop detailed system layouts, including device placement and wiring routes.
• Analyze architectural and engineering plans for fire alarm integration.
• Produce technical drawings, ensure compliance with standards and codes.
• Manage revisions based on feedback and changes in project scope.
• Prepare documentation such as submittal packages and equipment lists.
• Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders for requirements.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand needs and present designs.
• Conduct quality checks for accuracy and compliance.
• Manage design schedules to meet deadlines.
• Incorporate client feedback into design revisions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
