Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of technical design experience in transportation projects.
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
  • PE license required; ability to obtain Tennessee PE.
  • Experience with MicroStation, GEOPAK drainage, and HEC-RAS.
  • Familiarity with developing deliverables per TDOT standards and requirements (BSR/CSR preferred).
  • Experience in erosion and sediment pollution control design (TDOT Level III Certification a plus).
  • Working knowledge of TDOT Guidelines for Drainage Studies and Hydraulic Design.
  • Working knowledge of the FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual.
  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of transportation projects.
  • Design and analyze open and closed storm drainage systems.
  • Design hydraulic culverts and bridges.
  • Assist in the permitting process.
  • Develop erosion and sediment pollution control design plans.
  • Supplement efforts of the civil/highway group.
  • Provide fieldwork assistance to verify existing site conditions.
