Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including pricing models, billing, and cost structures.
  • Experience with cloud cost management tools like AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing, or third-party tools like CloudHealth, Spot.io, or Apptio.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting for cloud expenditures.
  • Experience implementing cost allocation strategies using tagging and billing rules.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to explain complex financial and technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud cost management, FinOps, or related roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and monitor cloud usage and expenses across multiple platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Implement strategies to optimize cloud costs and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for cloud cost visibility and tracking.
  • Partner with engineering, finance, and product teams to develop cost-optimization strategies.
  • Establish and enforce cloud cost management policies and best practices.
  • Drive adoption of FinOps principles across the organization.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through resource rightsizing, instance reservations, and discounts (e.g., Reserved Instances, Spot Instances).
  • Automate cost management processes, including tagging, reporting, and anomaly detection.
  • Work with finance teams to forecast cloud spending and align budgets with business objectives.
  • Provide insights into future costs based on usage trends and business needs.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate teams on FinOps best practices.
  • Advocate for cultural change to instill accountability and financial ownership within teams.
  • Implement accurate chargeback and showback mechanisms.
  • Ensure granular cost allocation through tagging, labeling, and usage analysis.
