Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cloud Security Architect or in a similar role, with a strong focus on AWS and/or Azure environments
- Proficiency with security services and features in AWS (e.g., IAM, VPC, Security Groups, CloudTrail) and Azure (e.g., Azure Active Directory, Network Security Groups, Azure Security Center)
- Deep understanding of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, FedRAMP, ISO 27001, and CIS Benchmarks
- Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies for threat detection, intrusion prevention, and vulnerability management
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement security architectures for AWS and/or Azure cloud environments, focusing on network security, identity and access management, and data protection.
- Provide thought leadership for new techniques and design patterns related to Enterprise Cloud Security Architecture.
- Design and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Perform risk assessments and vulnerability evaluations to identify and address potential security risks.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security controls into the cloud infrastructure and development processes.
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and breaches, providing root cause analysis and remediation strategies.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continually enhance our cloud security measures.
- Collaborate with programs across the VA increase the VA’s Cloud Security posture.
- Provide expertise and training to internal teams on cloud security best practices and emerging threats.
