Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, with extensive knowledge of payroll functions.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll and tax regulations, especially California.
  • Proficient in payroll software like ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll.
  • Excellent analytical skills and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have either a Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage Payroll Operations: Oversee the full payroll cycle for multiple clients, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Handle complex payroll issues.
  • Establish Best Practices: Develop, implement, and improve payroll processes to minimize errors and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Stay updated on payroll laws and ensure compliance. Mitigate risks in payroll activities.
  • Client Communication & Relationship Management: Serve as the main contact for clients on payroll issues and build positive relationships.
  • Payroll Reporting & Analytics: Prepare and review payroll reports, providing insights for clients.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Work with HR and accounting for seamless integration.
  • Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving: Evaluate payroll processes for improvements.
  • Audit & Reconciliation: Conduct payroll audits and lead reconciliation for reports and filings.
