Requirements:
  • 7+ years of privacy compliance experience in-house or at a law firm.
  • Strongly preferred qualified and practicing solicitor in England and Wales.
  • Minimum 7 years PQE.
  • Experience in providing employment-related guidance throughout EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions.
  • In-depth knowledge of privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR and UK GDPR, with additional knowledge of HIPAA or US state privacy laws being a plus.
  • Demonstrated operational experience translating legal requirements into employment advice.
  • Experience leading responses to employee relations incidents and analyzing labor and employment issues globally.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-house legal counsel on employment related matters, including employment agreements, handbooks, policy issues, workplace investigations, and Employee Relations matters.
  • Work closely with Employee Relations and HR Business Partners to support emerging issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Participate in and influence decision-making with clients and stakeholders.
  • Identify legal risks, provide practical and solution-focused advice.
  • Independently handle legal matters and projects from basic to complex.
  • Supervise outside counsel on employment-related matters.
  • Educate and train internal stakeholders on legal matters, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging laws and trends in labor and employment protection globally.
