Requirements:

• Exceptional risk and control expertise from UK banks, financial services, or FinTech.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and tackle complex issues in matrix environments.
• Strong track record in managing first line risk with hands-on experience in growing new business ‘in control’.
• Data-driven control leadership.
• Thriving in fast-paced settings with resilience, adaptability, and exceptional execution skills.
• Exhibiting curiosity and collaboration, adept at asking insightful questions and quickly acting on new information.
• Experience in fintech, deploying AI, or working in scaling environments or tech companies is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Leading a team of experts, balancing delivery with continuous improvement, and engaging with senior leadership to drive strategic impact.
• Representing Monzo in external regulatory engagements and industry forums, managing requests and enhancing regulatory relationships.
• Ensuring thorough execution of risk-based commitments and synthesizing insights from risk assessments to inform both current and future practices.
• Aggregating and challenging outputs from risk assessments in the first line, making sense of combined results and focusing on historical and proposed practices.
• Elevating Monzo’s control environment to greater maturity and scalability, pioneering a proactive approach to risk management.
• Fostering positive relationships across the three lines of defense, addressing control gaps, implementing effective solutions, and promoting a transparent risk culture.
