Requirements:
  • Established Compliance Officer with experience in anti-money laundering and sanctions frameworks.
  • Preferred experience in the Payments sector or broader Financial Services.
  • Knowledgeable about Belgium and EEA AML Laws, 5th/6th AMLD, PSD2/PSD3/PSR regulations.
  • Significant experience in CDD, EDD, and suspicious activity monitoring.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks for risk management and internal controls.
  • Ability to implement best practices in AML/CTF and communicate with the global compliance team.
  • Engaged and strategic, able to interact with C-suite level.
  • Strong people management skills and talent attraction capabilities.
  • Fluent in French and English and resident in Belgium.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as the chief interface between the company and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain the Belgian entities’ licences to operate.
  • Ensure compliance with country/jurisdictional laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to global compliance policies and draft local compliance addenda.
  • Implement and manage AML and CTF programmes, conduct audits, and oversee suspicious activity reporting.
  • Manage the Belgium Compliance Analyst team.
  • Produce and present compliance reports to the board.
  • Represent Belgium Compliance in governance forums.
  • Maintain the Regulatory Reporting Calendar and local risk register.
  • Conduct due diligence on new partners and drive local partnerships.
  • Create and manage the local compliance team budget.
